Hi, time to share my next 2 spreads in my Book of Days.

The first is a very colourful spread, not my usual colour choice, but I love it.

The second is totally different, more muted shades.

I am currently doing some art classes as I have mentioned previously and honestly I think they are paying off. I am focusing on drawing facial features at the moment and I find I love to sketch eyes.

So the eyes on this spread are sketched by moi and I have to say I am very pleased with them

I adore this page, it happens to be one of my favourites so far.

This spread is about looking inside oneself, what do you see, what have you discovered about you.

I just wanted to share my latest spread in my Book of Days

I love this spread, the drawing is my very first coloured with watercolours. I am currently doing an art class and I honestly never thought I would be able to draw a face, but I have woohoo.

I am sooooo loving my art classes, currently doing 4 different ones and learning so much.

Actually this is what this page is about Self Discovery, I am discovering things about me all the time.

2012 is my year of discovery, belief and courage.

Book Of Days

Afternoon all, very short post, am having heaps of internet and computer issues today. My computer spat it this morning and is now in the computer repair shop, so am using hubby's, frustratingly slow.

And the net, well that is a story in itself, so if I manage to get this posted it will be nothing short of a miracle.

Here are the next two spreads in my Book of Days.

These two are of more muted colour combo, just the way I have been feeling this week, things will get better, one has to believe that.

I actually really like the above spread, don't know what it is that appeals to me so much but it does.

I have just enrolled in some more art classes, so I am doing doing three different classes, don't think there will be all that much time for papercrafting, I will fit some in, but honestly my passion now lies with me new found me, I have discovered I love art journalling and creating canvases.

I never knew I could create in this way, so happy I discovered a little more about me.

Actually 2012 to me is about discovery, belief and courage. I need to embrace all three.

I am so excited, I just finished my very first canvas for my Canvas Create class.

Donna Downey is such an inspiration, I love her work and admire her immensely.

Let me show what I have created.

I am really quite proud of my creation.

I didn't have the colours or the paints recommended in the class information, nor could I get the 14 x 14 canvas, nor do I have the india ink, but I really don't think that matters at all.

Can't wait for February class, the classes are monthly for the whole year.

It is anything but winter here today in Australia, we are having a beautiful day of about 26 degrees C.

I coloured this gorgeous image from Mo's Digital a couple of weeks ago and am in the mood to enter into some challenges. So off I went and found some challenges and created this card.

I am lucky enough to have received a whole lot of brand new stamps from Kitty-Lane. Fay has kindly sent me sooooo many stamps to play with that I just have to share a couple of the projects I have completed so far using Kitty-Lane stamps.

The first is a monochromatic card, I have completed in just about all white.

I love the way this card turned out.

I stamped on watercolour paper with Stazon ink.

Today I had a terrible day at work and needed to de-stress when I got home.

There is no better way to de-stress than to do a little papercrafting. So I decided to create a card from a Mo Manning image I had coloured up previously, she is called Abby Celebrating.

I am back with another little creation for a challenge.

I am so loving colouring up my Magnolia stamps at the moment I just had to enter the challenge at Magnolia Down Under - Image coloured black and white.

I chose Tilda and Edwin cuddling, this is just sooooo cute.

For something a little different I decided to create a little gift bag.

Hopefully you can see the bird, it's from birds clear stamp by Matha Stewart

It turned out beautifully using the paints.

I had such fun creating this dimensional bird cage.

There is a fantastic tutorial on Youtube by jennings644 it's in 3 parts, check it out.

I used 2mm chipboard, painted black with Kaiser Paint, then added copper Rub n Buff for a rustic feel

The bird (which can't been seen properly in the pics) is stamped, heat embossed then painted with Lumiere Paints.

The flowers are all handcrafted by moi.

Created a charm using some beads and an antique key.

Today I would like to share a card I have created specifically for the challenge at

DP2 Challenge Blog.

As you know I am not into digi images but, there are a few digi companies that I absolutely adore and Mo's Digital Images is one of them, the other is Saturated Canary. Mo's is a challenge blog I would love to be a DT on, I will have to look out for their next call, won't I, one just never knows.

So anyhoo today is all about Mo's images. I just purchased another 4 of her latest release, and boy are they super cute.

I have used Ragged Romeo today.

Oh by the way, I nearly forgot, the challenge is Clean and Simple, which is not so simple for me, I love to embellish LOL.

Saturated Canary Guest DT Call

It was only the other day I was thinking to myself, how thrilled I would be to be chosen for the Saturated Canary Design Team, but alas there was no call, well not on the day I was daydreaming.

Just today I was checking out the blog and you would never guess what I saw, a DT call at Saturated Canary Blog,

OMG I was soooooo excited I just had to apply, maybe it's a sign, well let's hope it is LOL

I have only recently discovered these gorgeous, gorgeous images and have purchased quite a few.

I am in LOVE.

I have been raving about them in my blog since discovering these digis. So you can imagine how I felt when I saw the call.

To apply you have to write a new post (voila), and create a project using a Saturated Canary image, well of course LOL.

Anyhoo I couldn't decide which image to use, I love them all, so I decided to created two totally different cards.

Thought I would take a little break from my Book of Days and create something completely different.

You may have noticed lately that I am loving Magnolia stamps, again, neglected them for quite some time, but they are fantastic for practicing colouring and besides that are super cute.

Actually I have just bought another 8 Magnolia stamps, well in December, they only arrived the other day and I haven't even had a chance to stamp them let alone colour. It's on my list LOL

Anyhoo I altered a pencil/pen holder, love it and useful too.

Here is a closeup of Tilda and sentiment

I used Kaiser acrylic paints and crackle medium, then sealed with a satin sealant.

Added roses from Wild Orchids Crafts, except for the largest rose which I created.

The sentiment stamps is one I have had for ages and honestly can't remember where it was from. I embossed with copper embossing powder and sprays from Lindys Stamp Gang, added a few Kaisercraft pearls.

I am sooooo excited to be a part of the year long project called Book of Days.

I have never been a part of such a project and I have to say I am loving it.

The word I have chosen for my book is Believe, after the past year of illness and losing my mum, I feel I just have to believe that the cancer is gone for good and that life will get better.

Good morning, I am on such a roll, honestly I cannot ever remember posting daily, but as long as I have the time and the mojo I will post every day.

Today I wanted to share a gorgeous image with you called Rainy Day from Saturated Canary Digis. I just love these images and am so glad I found them.

I decided to colour in Sepia tones, the first time I have ever attempted to do so and I think it turned out rather well.

I created this card for the challenge over at Saturated Canary Challenge Blog which is clean and simple, which I have to say I find extremely difficult to achieve, I love to embellish, but anyhoo here is my attempt at Clean and Simple, let me know what you think.

I have just created a Christmas card, I can hear you all saying a what??

Yep a Christmas card in January, can you believe it. Well the reason is I was practicing colouring reds with Copics and coloured up my Jolly Tilda image. So of course I had to find a challenge to enter.

I have gone Tilda crazy lately, but there is a reason for that. I have been practicing my colouring and Magnolia images are fanastic to practice on. I have coloured up some other images and will be creating with those images over the coming week, so make sure you come back

Over at Magnolia Down Under the current challenge is to use the colour combo Red, Cream and Gold, what does this scream, Christmas right, so there you go that's why I have just created a Christmas card.

I just love how this card turned out. I usually shy away from using reds as a feel they are difficult to colour with, but I am going to keep on practicing.

Going Green

Good morning, I am back with a new card I have created just this morning.

The challenge at Mad for Markers this month is to use a different colour combo, something you wouldn't normally use.

I have chosen green and yellow, a combo that I would rarely use, I am really a pink girl.

Here's my card.

Another thing I have used in this card is a digi image from Make It Crafty, now that is something I rarely do too, you know me I am all about using my rubber stamps, but hey it doesn't hurt to try something new and this image is just do darn cute, I couldn't resist it.

Colouring Mediums

Hi again

Remember in an earlier post today I said I had been playing around with different colouring mediums, well I thought I would share what I have been doing.

Firstly I will show you Edwin, he has been coloured using Tombow markers in the following colours.

Pants - 526

Shirt and Cap - 933, 192

Patch on Pants - 856

Shoes - 992

Wings - 491

Skin - 850

Hair - 977

Shadows - N95

Yep both coloured using the above colours, the difference is in the paper used.

Stamped on 30gsm watercolour paper

Stamped on Canvas

The next are Tildas

Stamped on Xpress It paper and coloured with Copics

Stamped on 300 gsm watercolour paper

coloured using Distress Inks.

This method I think I need to practice heaps.

Stamped on Xpress It paper and

coloured using pencils and gamasol.

I only have a 36 set of Faber Castell Classic Colour pencils, nothing special about them, very limited in colour choice. I have ordered a set of Prismacolor pencils just waiting for their arrival.

I am also going to purchase some Derwent Inktense pencils. I would love to have the Faber Castell Polychromos pencils but at the moment they a priced a bit too high.

Last but not least is the Tilda in my previous post today.

Tilda is coloured with Tombow markers and of course is stamped on watercolour paper.

What is my favourite method of colouring??? Mmmmmmm let me see, I really don't have one, they all have their own qualities. I colour in whatever takes my fancy at the time.

I have to say though that I have had Tombow and Marvy markers for ages and ages and never really used them til just recently. I LOVE them and will be using them more, actually I ordered about another dozen colours just today. Can't wait for them to arrive.

I have been sorely neglecting my Tilda stamps too, I think I have just fallen in love with them again. Honestly Magnolia stamps are fantastic to colour up, I also like to colour LOTV stamps and am trying to find some Bombshell stamps.

I am no expert by any means but I am thinking of doing a Youtube video on colouring with Tombow markers using different papers. Hopefully I will be able to get to it tomorrow.

Steampunk Mixed Media Canvas

I have been playing in my craftroom, and have to say having a great time.

I love steampunk and also mixed media, so I have combined the two in this canvas.

Lovin Magnolia

Hi, the past couple of days I have been playing around with different colouring mediums and have been colouring up a whole host of Magnolia Stamps, which I have been sadly neglecting

I have been using Faber Castell Pencils, Tombow Markers, Marvy Markers, Distress Inks and Copics. I need some more Tombow markers as I don't have quite enough colours, mind I think I have around 48 currently.

I have just discovered I love, love, love using Tombow markers just as much as using Copics. I also have developed a love of pencils and am waiting on my PrismaColor Pencils to arrive as I don't have many pencils at the moment, so a bit limited.

Anyhoo as I have coloured up quite a few stamped images I thought I should do something with them, why not create a card, firstly, then enter into some challenges. Good idea I thought.

Here is the first card I have created, well the only one at the moment.

Pic isn't very good, have to try and get a better one.

Altered Box

Happy New Year everyone.

It is New Year's Day here in Australia, I am having a nice quiet day in my craftroom.

I just completed an altered box which I created to store all my tags in. For sometime now I have been wondering how I can store my tags. A book just didn't seem to suit as the tags are too bulky, then yesterday I came up with this idea and it works beautifully.

Now I know this type of design has been done by others, I can honestly say I have not watched their videos nor read the details on anyone's blogs.

Here is the completed box

I am very pleased with the finished item.

I started with a box that some flowers were delivered in, it measures 6 1/2"square by 4 3/4"high.

(Sorry forgot to take a pic before I started).

I decorated the outside of the box using:-

Handcrafted Paper Flower Bouquet

I then decided to add my Handcrafted Butterfly to front.

Here are the products used

I cut the butterfly with KNK Maxx.

PART ONE

I then set about creating the inside pockets to house my tags.

I used two different size paper bags and cut to

4"x 6" and 5 3/4"x 6"

The hinge is a design by Lora Dennison from Following the Paper Trail. I did adjust the construction to suit my needs.

I added Book Plates to the front for journalling. I am journalling the tag details. The book plate was cut with an Alterations Die - Tag and Bookplates.

Handcrafted Paper Flowers

I have playing around in my craftroom today and have created a variety of handcrafted paper flowers.

These were cut using KNK Maxx, inked with Distress Inks

Spayed with Lindys Stamp Gang Spray

This rose was cut using a large daisy punch

and constructed similarly to making a grunge rose

One was cut from Designer and paper and the other

white cardstock then I adhered Alterations Tissue Wrap

Inked edges with Distress Ink Vintage Photo

I then created a little bouquet which I will be using on the cover of one of my mini albums.

Pretty In Pink

Hi, well it's Boxing Day here in Australia, Christmas day has come and gone. Hubby is at work, my girls and their kids are at their homes and I am home alone, well not quite have my two dogs here for company.

Perfect time for crafting, no interruptions, lousy weather, just started raining.

I created another card using the Fuffie Fairie stamp from Sweet Pea Stamps but this time in a different colour combo.

Dancing Leaf Fairy

Remember yesterday, I said I have found images I had stamped and not coloured, well here is the second image.

It's called Dancing Leaf from Sweet Pea Stamps and is designed by Karen Middleton.

I was sorting my stamped images out this morning and came across some images from Sweet Pea Stamps that I had stamped and had never coloured.

So, yep you guessed it, just had to colour them up. I have only completed one at the moment, but will be colouring the rest, they are gorgeous fairy stamps design by Karen Middleton. So glad I was doing a clean up I had totally forgotten that I had purchased these.

Day 11 is here, again big improvisation, had almost nothing Tim had used, even so I think it turned out well, but I have to say this is my least favourite of Tim's tags for 2011, I nearly didn't even try to re-create, sorry Tim. I usually love everything Tim but not this tag.

Again some improvisation, didn't have his letters so did the "Believe" in word, printed, inked and adhered. Looks OK I think.

I also created the banner just from some white copy paper, cut out and inked, I think that turned out pretty good too.

TH 12 Tags of Christmas Day 8

Here we are at Day 8, Tim's tag is very steampunky and I hope I have done the re-creation justice. Again didn't have all of the products so improvised a little.

I didn't have the clock die so I used the clock mask instead.

I created the plaque and stamped and embossed the numbers

Created the word Joy and covered with Glossy Accents.

Figures are from Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante papers.

TH 12 Tags of Christmas Day 7

Wow day 7, I know I didn't post days 5 and 6 but I did say I wouldn't has I don't have the products or anything like them to be able to do my re-creations any justice, so sadly had to miss those two days.

But here is day 7, I am really please with this tag.

I didn't have any Kraft Glassine, so I just created some holy leaves using wax paper, Glimmer Mist, Distress Ink and Crackle Accents, think they turned out ok. I also don't have the tree die so I cut some branches freehand from Grunge Board and followed Tim's instructions, but used Liquid Applique for the snow instead of Sticles.

The stamp set is Stampers Anonymous Joyful Song, a very recent purchase and so glad I did.

Hope you can let me know what you think, I really appreciate it when you do.

Next is day 8, have you seen Tim's it's very steampunky. Right up my alley.

Christmas Tag

Hi, thanks for stopping by.

To keep my mind occupied I thought I might create a tag, Tim Holtz style, certainly no where near as good as Tim, but I do love his style.

I created a little Christmas scene specifically for the White Christmas challenge over at Fashionable Stamping.

(Not a great pic, wish you could see the snow properly)

I used my KNK Maxx to design and cut the little house and fence, tree was cut using Tim Holtz Alterations die and coloured with Distress stain.

I then added Sparkly Fluff as the snow, inked edges with distress ink and created a tiny Christmas wreath.

The background is embossed with a Christmas embossing folder, inked with Distress Stain and then sanded and then inked the edges with Antique Linen distress ink.

Sentiment is a Kaisercraft stamp and I added some liquid applique for snow.

Lastly I added seam binding and pearls to the top.

It is with a heavy heart I write this post.

Friday evening, 18th November my mum passed away after losing her battle with lung cancer, she was 73 years old, too young to go.

My brother and I are devastated as is the whole family, we are the only two left now after losing two brothers and now our mum.

Our mum will be missed more than words can say.

Now onto our challenge, the theme this month is

THINK PINK

as it is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I decided on a pretty pink box, I am loving altering boxes at the moment.

Firstly I painted with a dark pink acrylic paint from Kaiser then a crackle medium, then a very pale pink acrylic paint, I just love how it turned out.

Next I added some pink and white trim from my stash, an antique button and a stunning crystle drop which I purchased from an Etsy store.

The feet are wooden beads purchased from local bead shop.

Added velvet ribbon around the side of the lid.

Butterflies cut with a Martha Stewart punch.

Then cut a circle to fit top from smooth white cardstock, dry embossed and sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang sprays, inked edges with Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet then adhered to top of box.

I picked up the pink ribbon charm at Spotlight a couple of months ago.

The stamp is from Kaiser Clear Stamp set "All About Me".

The large flower is hand crafted by me and all the others are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Pretty In Pink

Hi again, today I have a tag I created specifically for the current challenge at Copic Creations.

The challenge is Pretty In Pink.

I chose to use a Tilda stamp as I haven't coloured her up for so very long, I really enjoyed creating this tag.

The clothing looks purple in the pic, I used RV91, RV93, RV95, which looks more pinkish in real life, so hope this meets with the challenge requirements.

The tag is created from Flavia cardstock, one of my new favs. Dry embossed and then sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays.

I then added gold Rub n Buff to the raised areas and edges of the tag.

Large flower is hand created by me the others are from Wild Orchids Crafts. The butterfly was created by me.

Added some feathers, Kaiser pearls, fibres and a doily.

Hi, today I am sharing my latest creation, now I have to thank first of all RachO113 on Youtube for the inspiration.

I followed a tutorial Rachael has on her channel, changed it up a bit to make it my own, so no it is not exactly like hers, but check Rachael out she is so very talented.

Grungy Altered Box

Good morning, I have another altered box I would like to share with you today.

I created this one for my step daughter's 30th birthday next week, we will be putting jewellery inside the box.

Firstly painted the entire box, inside and out with black acrylic paint, then added crackle medium and painted with antique white. Once dried sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang Creme Brulee and added a little Rub n Buff around the rim.

I have again used Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Collection, I just love this collection.

Added some black braid around the bottom, for the feet I purchased black wood beads from my local bead shop.

Added a vintage button and adhered a Kaiser Sparklets in Coral, these are stunning. I then created some dangle beads and added to front. The butterfly is from Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection.

All the flowers, except for the rose buds were created by me, I used Distress ink in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain to colour the roses added some berries and feathers. Again butterfly from Pink Paislee. Key is KaiserCraft. Also added some stickles around the wings on the image and Distress Stickles on the clothing.

The knob is a Tim Holtz Curio Knob.

The inside is sprayed with Lindys Stamp Gang Cattail Copper Brown, sorry didn't take a pic of the inside.

As you can see I am at the moment getting away from my usual style and thoroughly enjoying it.

Steampunk Altered Box

Whoohoo my mojo is back, I knew finding some challenges would work.

Today I have been working on an altered box and decided on a steampunk style, sometimes I get a bit tired of the same old pink, girly and frilly look. Don't get me wrong though I love that style, it's the style I am really known for all vintage and feminine, but just sometimes it's great not to do the usual.

The box was a plain paper mache box that hubby brought home for me the other day, he saw them on sale and thought I could do something with them.

Firstly I painted the entire box, inside and out with black acrylic paint then adhered Graphic 45 Steampunk Debutante Paper Collection, grunged up a little more with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink. I

I cut the gears using a Spellbinders die, then painted, added clear embossing and mica powders for a metal look. The key is an old key that I coloured with alcohol ink and added some Patina Rub N Buff.

Added a brass handle from stash, can't remember where from sorry, also added a Tim Holts Philosphy tag and fragment which I adhered a pic from the paper collection.

The flowers are created by me, the larger is cut from a Paper Artsy Die and then stamped with Paper Artsy stamp collection, added Lindy Stamp Gang sprays, the smaller flowers were cut on my KNK Maxx, added Tim Holtz distress stains, dry embossed and added a little Rub N Buff and a rhinestone to the centres.

Altered Letter

Back again, now I would like to share with you a letter I have altered, I will be putting this up on my studio wall.

The back is painted, then added crackle medium for an old world look. Sorry fogot pic of back. Paper collection is from Websters Pages.

I have been doing some crocheting lately and created some lovely little flowers which I have added to my altered letter. The butterfly is cut using a Sizzix die.

Butterfly cut using a Martha Stewart Punch, sprayed using Lindys Stamp Gang Spray, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder and some string pearls added.

Small flowers cut from paper collection, inked edges with Distress Ink and added a Kaiser Pearl to the centre.

Happy Birthday

OMG I can't believe how long it is since I have entered a challenge.

For the past few months I have been sooooo into creating my mini albums I just haven't had time for challenges, but I find myself at a loss at the moment.

I am between chemo treatments right now and feeling OK but you wouldn't believe it my mojo decided to up and leave me.

I haven't had the slightest creative idea for a bit now. So I thought challenges, that will push my creativity back a little, an it did, maybe still not enough but hey better than none,

So anyhoo found some challenges and set about creating a birthday card for my grandson who is turning 7, if you remember I did a post about a month or so back on the mini album that I created for his birthday too.

Enough with the waffling, here is my card, so I hope my grandson likes it.

I have used Copics to colour the image which is from Sugar Nellie. Boy I have missed colouring didn't realise till I starting colouring up this gorgeous image. I also added some clear spica pen to the flourish for a bit of sparkle. Don't think it shows in pic though, the light is terrible sorry. Also added some Crackle Accents to the train.

Flourish is cut from a Tim Holtz Alterations die, button from stash and I just purchased the centre die yesterday, a a new brand called X Cut and sooooo much cheaper than Spellbinders, mind I still love my Spellbinders.

Border punch is from EK Success added a few Kaiser pearls.

I have had the paper in my stash for a bit and not sure of the manufacturer, cardstock is Bazzill.

Quick Update

Hi, as you know I made some gifts for my mum, who has terminal cancer, well I had a wonderful visit with her and she adored the gifts I made. She said the gifts made her emotional and teary especially the mini.

Mum is doing OK at the moment, which I am so glad to be able to say.

Thanks for all your wonderful comments, your support for my mum and also me with my own cancer battle, I truly appreciate your heartfelt comments.

For My Mum

Hi again, said I would be back later today with another post,

so here I am.

This time I would like to share with you some gifts I have made for my mum

who, as you all know is very ill.

Firstly I created a beaded bookmark and a beaded charm for her key ring.

I am hoping each time my mum looks at these she will know my thoughts and strength are with her.

Secondly I have created a small mini album for my mum to carry with her in her handbag.

I have added photos of all the family so mum knows we are all with her at all times

that our love and our strength goes with her wherever she may be,

whether just at home or having treatment for her cancer.

Some Flowers and Beaded Buttons

Good morning everyone, thanks for stopping by.

Today I wanted to share with you a couple of things I have been working on.

Firstly here are a couple more beaded buttons, I am loving creating these, so useful too, use them as flower centres, brooches, jaz up a handbag or embellie for scrapping.

Next a couple of paper flowers I was playing with this morning

The first couple have a very grungy look to them, which is great as it is what I was going for.

Firstly punched the petals using Paper Shapers punch, then sprayed with several sprays from Lindys Stamp Gang, next inked the edges with Distress Ink Broken China, then shaped with a stylus, added my mini roses to centre and there you have it.

Next another rose type flower

This one was coloured with Rhubarb Stalk Memento Ink and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Vintage Photo, added a couple of leaves which were cut on my KNK Maxx

The centre is one of my beaded buttons.

Next I have a lace flower

Now this idea was not mine, it is actually Fiona's idea

I created this flower using lace added some beads from my stash, pearl string, feather and a vintage leaf.

Lastly I had a go at making a charm bracelet, and I gotta say I love it, I have it on right now.

It actually looks so much better in real life

I used some chain, and heaps of beads from my stash.

I will be doing one more post a little later on today then that will be it for a little bit as I am going to South Australia on Monday

I am going to spend some time with my mum.

My mum has been recently diagnosed with lung cancer which has spread.

I am going to spend some quality time with my mum whilst I can.

Oh and just before I go, yes I am still undergoing my treatment for breast cancer, I will be fine though I am sure, so thankyou to all have sent their wishes and love, I truly appreciate it.

Beaded Button

Back again, third post today OMG, it's either feast or famine.

This arvo I have been messing around with beads and created a beaded button that I would like to share with you all.

I used a combination of seed beads to create this freestyle pattern.
